What You’ll Build
Breakout clone with Copper gradients and sampled sound.
Paddle at the bottom. Ball bouncing. Bricks shattering above. Classic Breakout gameplay — but with Amiga polish. The Copper paints gradient skies. Paula plays satisfying thwacks and crashes. The Blitter clears bricks instantly.
Why This Game?
After Blast Zone’s shooting action, Shatter Point focuses on physics and precision. The ball must bounce correctly, the paddle must feel responsive, and the effects must satisfy. You’ll learn:
- Implement ball physics with fixed-point maths
- Use Blitter fills for brick graphics
- Create Copper gradient backgrounds that look stunning
- Play Paula samples for audio feedback
- Handle brick destruction with Blitter clear
- Build power-up systems that modify gameplay
- Achieve smooth animation with double buffering
By the end, you’ll have a polished Breakout with Amiga flair.
Skills You’ll Master
