In the 1980s, Liverpool was the undisputed capital of British games development. Within a few square miles, Imagine Software, Ocean Software, Psygnosis, and numerous smaller studios created games that defined the industry. The concentration of talent, competition, and cross-pollination made Liverpool gaming’s equivalent of Motown.
