Overview

The action RPG merges two traditions: the character progression of role-playing games with the real-time combat of action games. Instead of selecting “Attack” from a menu, players swing swords, dodge attacks, and time abilities. The genre spans the spectrum from Zelda-style adventures to Diablo-style loot games to modern “looter shooters.”
