Overview

Isaac’s tears are his weapons. Edmund McMillen followed Super Meat Boy with something darker—a twin-stick shooter roguelike exploring religious abuse through grotesque imagery. Procedural dungeons, hundreds of items creating synergy combinations, and bosses drawn from biblical nightmares. The original Flash game spawned Rebirth’s expanded remake, then expansions adding thousands of items. Controversy over content only increased its cult following.
