Katamari Damacy
Roll up the world
Keita Takahashi's Katamari Damacy tasked players with rolling up everything from thumbtacks to continents, creating joy through absurdist escalation.
Overview
Katamari Damacy emerged from designer Keita Takahashi’s desire to create something different. Players roll a sticky ball (katamari) that picks up objects, growing larger as it collects more items. Start with paperclips, end with buildings. The King of All Cosmos narrates with absurdist majesty. The J-pop soundtrack earworms permanently. Nothing else feels quite like it.
