The Secret of Monkey Island
Mighty pirate adventure
The Secret of Monkey Island perfected the point-and-click adventure with witty writing, memorable characters, and puzzles that challenged without frustrating.
Overview
Guybrush Threepwood wanted to be a pirate. Ron Gilbert wanted to make an adventure game you couldn’t lose. The Secret of Monkey Island achieved both, combining Caribbean pirate mythology with anachronistic humour, insult sword fighting, and a villain who became gaming’s most beloved ghost pirate.
