Overview
Preserving the flame. When Looking Glass closed and Irrational moved on, Arkane Studios became the primary custodian of immersive sim design. Founded in France by Raphaël Colantonio, the studio survived near-bankruptcy, corporate acquisition, and industry scepticism to deliver some of the genre’s finest modern examples. Dishonored proved mainstream viability; Prey honoured System Shock; Deathloop pushed boundaries.
